Did you have fun on your field trip to the Lowell Mills? Want to have more fun? Join us for summer camp!

The Tsongas Industrial History Center’s summer camps are your answer to summer fun. Dreamers, doers, movers, and makers – come “mill around” with us as you explore history, science, and nature.

Below is information about our Summer Day Camp programs. You can sign up online using the 2024 Summer Camp registration and pay by credit card. If you would like to pay by check, please call us at 978-970-5080 or email: tihc@uml.edu and we will send you a paper registration form.

Boott Mills Camp (Ages 8-12)

July 8-12 or July 22-26

Discover, create and "mill around" with us. Explore Lowell by trolley, boat, and on foot. You'll weave by hand, create amazing works of art, and become a waterpower engineer. You've never had so much fun with history!

EcoExplorers (Ages 10-14)

July 15-19

Explore pockets of wilderness in Lowell and beyond. Have fun canoeing, investigating tide-pools, taking an urban nature hike, and making new friends in the natural world around you.

Discovery! (Ages 10-14)

July 29- August 2

The age of discovery is now! Experiment with messy science and cool engineering. Participate in fun crafts, games, field trips, and experiments that go beyond the ordinary, and discover new twists on Lowell’s stories.

CostCost

The cost is $185 each week (sibling discount price $165).
To receive the sibling discount price of $165.00, you must register each camper separately. Please complete the registration of your first camper at the price of $185.00. When registering an additional sibling camper, please begin a new registration and add “Sibling-Discount” in the Promo Code area to be charged the discounted $165.00 price.

ScheduleSchedule, Lunch, and Staff

Summer camp programs are designed and staffed by professional educators from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and Lowell National Historical Park. We have at least one staff member for each 8 to 10 children. Safety is always our first concern!

  • Campers bring their own lunch. Snacks provided.
  • Each camp runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Space is limited to 21 kids per camp. Pre-registration required.
  • A limited number of scholarships are available to assist with financial needs. Information about 2024 scholarships will be posted soon.
